Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw was born on March 23, 1953, in a city called Bangalore, in Karnataka. Her family had come from Gujarat. They were a middle-class family. Her father, Rasendra Mazumdar, was a master brewer, which means he was an expert in making beer. His job showed Kiran a new path later in life.
